Position Overview

NMC CAT is seeking a Safety Training Partner who is responsible for enhancing workplace safety by developing and delivering targeted training programs. Additionally, creating engaging content and identify coaching opportunities through field observations.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

• By using a variety of learning/training concepts and principles to include adult learning principles, create and deploy blended learning programs (that include shop/lab observation/hands-on learning) based upon identified safety gaps (Incident trends, KPI data, near miss data, employee/manager feedback, etc.) and common shop needs (LOTO, blocking and cribbing, safely loading equipment, safely moving equipment, forklift operation, etc.). 
• These activities should be tailored to “audience’s” actual jobs and include lessons arranged in sequential order according to the job process and include instructor-led demonstrations to teach principles and proper safety techniques and behaviors. 
• Develop training content, course content, guides, aides and assessments for each course. 
• Create short and engaging fundamental learning aids/videos to address gaps (pushing vs. pulling a wrench, using a hammer with impact gloves, etc.) .
• Spend up to 30% of week observing teams at all branch locations, to include employees in the field (w/their manager) to gain insight, recognize safe practices and identify real-moment coaching opportunities. 
• Train managers and supervisors in the safety requirements of their teams. This will allow them to identify issues with employee compliance with safety regulations. 
• Partner with Manager of Organizational and Talent Development to conduct regular needs assessment to identify gaps and opportunities. 
• Ensures proper documentation of course offerings and participation within our LMS. 
• Keep up to date with industry safety standards and regulations.  Maintains all required training certifications to respond efficiently to training need.
