Position Details

As a Cost Accountant, you will plan, research, and document a variety of financial economic and statistical analysis projects for business units in the TaborStreet℠.  You will be responsible for collecting, researching, and analyzing financial data that you will provide to business unit leaders to help them make informed decisions that drive business growth and goals.  

 

​​​​​ PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

  • Performs monthly review and analysis of Revenue, Gross Profit and Operating Profit at a business unit level to confirm current financial performance and predict future financial performance.
  • Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
  • Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
  • Advises Business Unit Vice President regarding matters, such as effective use of resources and return on investment scenarios. 
  • Analyzes past and present financial data of the business unit and estimates future revenues and expenditures, applying principles of finance.  Aids business unit with financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control, and project control.  
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.
  • Evaluates and analyzes capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc.
  • Prepares general ledger reconciliations and performs analysis for assigned accounts validating against various internal/external systems, work orders, vendor, and balance sheet statements. Performs depreciation analysis as needed. Compiles and prepares reports, graphs, and charts of data for supported accounts.
  • Communicates spending details and trends to the controller
  • Develops budget models to assist business units in their financial planning and forecasting.
